I'm enjoying my dagd classes more than ever now that I've learned almost enough to do exactly what I want to do at this stage. It's incredibly hard not to shoot for the stars and perfect my results because at this stage, I'm simply not skilled enough to produce the sorts of animations that pop up in this vivid imagination I've been blessed with. For now my meager attempts have to suffice.

I'm at home working in my sketchbook for my modeling class (character modeling, not hot chicks and cameras modeling). I've been drawing all day and I'm wearing yesterdays clothes with a combination of yesterdays and todays smell lingering on me like the chill I got from walking out to check the mail a couple of hours ago. And I re-stole 3ds max 9 and installed it here at my moms house so I can finish my homework. I'm making a rubiks cube and animating a short sequence with it. If I have time and, in all likelyhood, I will, I'll post it on youtube. By the way, even if I don't get around to posting shit on youtube, I always mediafire my work and post links on my facebook, so if you guys are ever bored and want to see how fucking impossible this shit is, feel free to download the completed animations. I usually render them in hd 1080p .avi's (high-def audio video interleave format), but occasionally I'll have to render them as 720p .mov's. ANYWAYS... point is, they should usually be in an accessable format. *sigh*
Truth is, I'm going a couple days without a ciggerette or a drop of alcohol, just to see if I can, and I had a teensy bit of a nic fit today... I just got really pissy. Liz... you'll know what I mean. *ugh* The alcohol thing didn't really get in the way of anything academically, but I showed up to work Friday morning still pretty much steaming drunk... I smelled like a distillery, and of course, as luck would have it, that's the day that the main investors came to look in on the place and see how things were being run. Well fuck my life if it wasn't the most important and influential person that noticed me staggering around... he came over and grabbed my shoulder to steady me and asked quietly if I had, "burned the candle" last night. I tried to focus on the area in between his eyes as I slurred the words "Naw, up all night studying." He said that he had long hair like me once too and that it wasn't too long ago that he had made identical mistakes in his youth. He told me to go home and sleep it off and commended me on actually getting up and being to work early. Apparently I was scheduled to be there 3 hours later than I arrived.
Woops.
So yeah... no more drinky drinky for a little bit... At least till I figure out what I'm like sober again. It's like these long ass winters... it's so cold, and after a while, you forget what it was like to lay in the sun and read a book on the beach. What it was like to take long walks through the city and chill out on a park bench with your friends. Anyways... |

So... very inebriated, me and Nick were like play-fighting and I did this slow motion kick to his ribs and he caught my foot and I made a jet fighter noise like you would when you swoop in with a spoon to feed a child and slow motion punched him in the face... but the punch actually and wholly unintentionally connected with his face and now he has a black eye. We all laughed about it but I felt soooo bad. So I bought him a pack of cigs this morning as a "Sorry I clocked you in the fucking dome" gift.
And Alex kicked me in the ribs 'cause he thought I was hitting on his girlfriend. Once again, we all laughed about it and he apologized wholeheartedly.
And my elbow hurts for some reason.
Grrrr...
In other news, I got batteries for my camera so I'll be taking some sweet b&w pics pretty soon.

So I'm sitting in my dagd 100 lab right meow and I'm fucking psyched because I'm working with a badass computer. I'd describe it but I'm guessing the specs might not interest ya'll.
But I'm seriously excited.
I'm animating a bouncing teapot. I'll definitely keep archives of all of my work here on my lj, and I'll youtube all of the rendered videos.
Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm sleeping here at this computer and tomorrow I'm bringing in a cot. And I still haven't shaved and I look like a fucking hobo.
That's not going to change any time soon either, cause now that I have access to a bitchen PC I'm never going out in public again, and the only way I'm gunna meet new people is if they take a seat at the computer next to me.
And I'm about to get really fat soon.

So as my last.fm page will tell you, I listen to a lot of Brand New... more so than thrice... allow me the opportunity to explain myself. There is no one I love more than thrice... but that damn song just puts me to sleep, so I play it on repeat while I rest. I've only been uploading my history for the past couple of days, so it'll take a while before it really shows my audio preferences, but I really like looking at the data collected. On average, I listen to fork and knife about 110 times a day, whether I'm conscious or not. But seriously... it knocks me out (literally). Thrice pumps me up.

So new years almost went off without a hitch. I, in all of my infinite wisdom, decided to sack tap one of my friends at the stroke of midnight - a gesture which he, himself, did not quite appreciate. That lead to a dispute inside my friends mind as to what the most painful and horrendous way of killing me would be. He went with asphyxiation, and to his credit, it was very much one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. He let go of my neck just before I passed out, thankfully.
Then I went home and ate crutons and popcorn. Note to self: no more sack tapping. |
